Description

The HS ADR emergency kit is an essential part of all vehicles transporting goods under the ADR regime. Thanks to the practical and sturdy bag, they are easy to carry and store. In addition, the packaging is resistant to chemicals. The HS ADR - OS kit is suitable for equipping vehicles for the transport of goods - oils, fats and petroleum substances and substances classified under the ADR agreement:

  • Non-flammable and non-toxic gases of Class 2.2
  • Flammable solids, spontaneously decomposing substances and anaerobic explosive substances of Class 2.2. 4.1
  • Pyrophoric substances of class 4.1. 4.2
  • Flame retardant substances of Class 5.1
  • Organic peroxides of Class 5.2
  • Corrosive substances of Class 8
  • Other dangerous substances and articles of Class 9

In addition to the mandatory equipment, the ADR contains oil sorbents and sealants which can reduce the environmental, safety and ultimately financial burden of an emergency situation. Oil sorbents extract oil from water.

ADR emergency kits can be retrofitted with other components. For example, we recommend retrofitting the emergency kit with suitable respiratory protection equipment chosen according to the nature of the chemicals being transported.

Application

GENERAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURE:

  1. Ensure your safety:
Open the emergency kit and put on your protective equipment.
    - Goggles
    - respirator or protective half-mask if included
    - gloves
    - reflective vest

  2. Secure persons at the scene of the accident so that they are out of reach of the spillage. Treat the injured and, if possible, restore basic bodily functions and arrange for the arrival of rescue workers.

  3. Mark the crash site, if on the roadway, with a warning triangle. In the event of adverse light and weather conditions, you may use chemical warning lights or other light sources for illumination and marking if they are part of the HS.
  4. Prevent further spillage of hazardous liquids:
Seal the nearest sewer inlet below the leak with PN 25-1RA sealing plates.
Contain the leaking liquid with sorption hoses.
Seal the openings through which hazardous liquids leak with PN 5PMPA sealant.
Aspirate the leaking liquid using sorption mats and sorption pads or other available sorbents.

  5. Clean-up:
Place used sorbents in a PE bag and label with a "HAZARDOUS WASTE" sticker.

Recommendations

Disposal of used sorbents is governed by the types of liquids absorbed. We recommend that the waste is handed over to a specialist hazardous waste disposal company.
