Description
Polyethylene, a polypropylene material characterized by chemical and mechanical resistance, was used for the production of the high sorption carpet. The carpet belongs to the STANDARD product line. The carpet is a very effective means of capturing spills that occur over a large area. It protects the floor under machines or in busy corridors, prevents slippery surfaces when dangerous liquids leak. The roll of carpet is supplied in dimensions of 100 cm × 25 m.
Benefits
This carpet has an impermeable bottom layer thanks to a special treatment . This layer ensures that the leaked substance does not stain the floor or pollute the environment. The carpet also has a higher strength thanks to this layer.
Thickness of the textile sorbent
A thick sorbent is a fabric with a higher basis weight and thickness. As a result, it can soak up large quantities of leaked liquids. It is best used in operations with a risk of large or continuous spills of hazardous substances.
Textile sorbent design
Carpet is excellent for covering large areas, for example under machinery or in busy corridors. Suitable for everyday use.
Application
Textile oil sorbents with an impermeable layer are designed for the sorption of oils, gasoline, diesel, solvents and other petroleum-based liquids. Due to the hydrophobic nature of the sorbent surface, oils and petroleum substances are selectively absorbed while water flows over the sorbent surface. This property is advantageous when the sorbent is used outdoors in rain. Impermeable sorbents are used in warehousing, manufacturing or repair facilities to prevent leakage of oil or to deal with an emergency situation in the event of a sudden spill of these liquids.
The use of impermeable sorbents will ensure:
Perforation
The full width of the carpet without perforations allows you to cover a large area affected by hazardous liquids without the risk of breakage.
Disposal of used sorbents
The disposal of used sorbents is governed by the properties of the absorbed liquids, by internal guidelines for handling chemicals and also by law - important laws are No. 185/2001 Coll. on waste or No. 350/2011 Coll. on chemicals and mixtures. We recommend that hazardous waste is handed over to a specialised company for the disposal of hazardous substances.
Sorbent ranges
STANDARD series textile sorbents are made of microfibre non-woven polypropylene fabric without ultrasonic coating. This means that they have a large internal volume and the loose microfibers ensure very fast sorption and high sorption capacity. The sorbents in this range are particularly useful where large quantities of leaked liquids need to be extracted and where it is not necessary to walk or walk over the sorbents.
