Why buy a sorbent?
Polypropylene has been used for the production of the low sorbent carpet, which is characterised by its chemical and mechanical resistance. The carpet belongs to the SUPERPREMIUM product line. The carpet is a very effective means of capturing leaks that occur over a large area. It protects the floor under machinery or in busy corridors and prevents slippery surfaces from forming when dangerous liquids leak. The roll of carpet is supplied in dimensions 40 cm × 53 m.
Benefits
This type of carpet can be used in four ways:
Thickness of textile sorbent
A thick sorbent is a fabric with a higher basis weight and thickness. This enables it to absorb large quantities of leaked liquids. It is best used in operations with a risk of large or continuous spills of hazardous substances.
Textile sorbent design
The versatile 4-in-1 sorption carpet can be used as a mat, carpet, sorption snake or sorption cushion. The carpet is perforated longitudinally and transversally, making it economical to use.
Uses
Textile universal sorbents are designed for the sorption of all non-aggressive liquids. They quickly and safely absorb emulsions, oils, fats, petroleum substances, solvents, water, aqueous solutions or weak chemical solutions. They are used in warehousing, manufacturing or repair facilities to prevent the release of hazardous substances or to deal with emergency situations in the event of a sudden release of these liquids.
The use of these sorbents will provide you with:
Perforation
Perforation allows you to tear off the necessary piece of fabric and better use the sorbent surface area. With this MRHE 4053 sorbent, the transverse, double longitudinal perforation allows it to adapt to the needs of a specific workplace, for example to cover rugged surfaces.
Packaging
The sorbents are supplied in a practical dispensing box to protect them from contamination and deterioration before use. It helps to preserve sorption capacity (with area under long-term loading, sorption capacity can be reduced by loss of free volume). This packaging makes the sorbent ready for immediate use.
Notice
These sorbents cannot be used for extracting oil from the water surface as they preferentially absorb water and aqueous solutions and therefore sink to the bottom.
Disposal of used sorbents
Disposal of used sorbents is governed by the properties of the absorbed liquids, by internal guidelines for handling chemicals and also by law - important laws are No. 185/2001 Coll. on waste or No. 350/2011 Coll. on chemicals and mixtures. We recommend that hazardous waste is handed over to a specialised company for the disposal of hazardous substances.
Sorbent ranges
SUPERPREMIUM series textile sorbents are made of three-layer non-woven fabric, where the inner polypropylene microfibre sorbent layer is protected on both sides by a thin cover layer. In addition, all layers are bonded by ultrasonic bonding. The sorbents in this series are therefore characterised by high strength, abrasion resistance on both sides and a relatively high sorption capacity. They are best used in areas where higher mechanical resistance and absolutely minimal fibre release from the surface is required. The strength of the material makes it possible for workers to walk over them.
